Simon J. Evenett is Professor of International Trade and Economic Development at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. He founded the Global Trade Alert, the independent commercial policy monitoring initiative, which is now located in the St Gallen Endowment for Prosperity Through Trade. Professor Evenett holds economics degrees from the University of Cambridge and Yale University. He has taught at Oxford university and twice has been a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Johns Hopkins University (twice) as well as a Visiting Professor at the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan three times. Professor Evenett has published over 225 books and edited volumes, book chapters, and journal articles.
