On 31st July 2020, Alejandro JARA, Co-Chair of the Board of the Friends of Multilateralism Group (FMG), was appointed as one of the 10 arbitrators of the Multi-Party Interim Appeal Arbitration Arrangement (MPIA), which serves as a provisional replacement of the paralyzed Appellate Body of the WTO dispute settlement mechanism.
On 24th July 2020, Pamela Coke-Hamilton, former member of the Friends of FMG (FFMG) was appointed as Executive Director of the International Trade Centre (ITC).
On 4th May 2021, Anabel González, Board member of the Friends of Multilateralism Group (FMG), was appointed as Deputy Director-General of the WTO.
