Yan ZHANG

Yan Zhang holds multiple academic and professional positions, such as the Deputy Secretary-General of the Service Economy and Trade Forum under the National Working Group for International Trade Disciplines of Chinese Universities, Director of the 7th Council of the China Society for Foreign Economic and Trade Statistics, Member of the First Arbitration Commission of Dunhuang International Arbitration Court, Special Research Fellow of the China Association for Trade in Services, and Think Tank Expert of the 2nd Emerging Economies Forum. She has actively participated the UNCTAD informal working group on data for services, trade and development policies and contributed Chinese experience on statistics of services trade to “Primer on data for trade in services and development policies” . She also attended and spoke in twelfth session of the Multi-year Expert Meeting on Trade, Services and Development of UNCTAD, WTO Public Forum, APEC 2026 Senior Officials Meeting, and OECD services trade workshop.

She has published more than 40 academic papers in renowned international and Chinese journals, including Review of International Economics, The World Economy, China Economic Review, The Journal of World Economy and so on. She has received numerous academic honors, such as the An Zijie Award for Research Papers and Books on International Trade, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce Award for Development Research Achievements, the 2020 Young Scholar Paper Award from the Trade and Investment in Services International Society (TIISA), and the Paper Award issued by the Chinese Association of International Trade.
