On March 9th 2021, the Friends of Multilateralism Group (FMG) has organized a virtual brainstorming on developmental aspects of WTO reform based on the proposal titled “Strengthening the WTO to Promote Development and Inclusivity” (WT/GC/W/778/Rev.3) tabled by African Group, Cuba and India.


H.E. Xolelwa MLUMBI-PETER, Ambassador of South Africa to the WTO, addressed the audience on various developmental aspects of WTO reform. H.E. Mr. Dagfinn SØRLI, Ambassador of Norway and Patrick Low from FMG also shared their views as discussants. Jonathan Fried from FMG moderated the meeting.


More than 20 participants participated in the brainstorming, including members of FMG, Friends of FMG and Punta del Este Group (PEG), ambassadors of WTO members, and representatives from related international organizations and institutions.
