On June 26th 2021, the Friends of Multilateralism Group (FMG) has organized an online brainstorming titled “The future of GVCs and FDI: Policy challenges beyond the Pandemic”.

This session was based on the recent report FMG member Simon Evenett’s report Advancing Sustainable Development With FDI: Why Policy Must Be Reset and FFMG member James Zhan’s recent paper GVC transformation and a new investment landscape in the 2020s: Driving forces, directions, and a forward-looking research and policy agenda.

Simon Evenett and James Zhan presented their report and the paper to the audience. Sean Doherty, FFMG member shared his comments and questions as discussant. Mia Mikic, the Board member of FMG moderated this session.

Nearly 20 participants joined the brainstorming, including members of FMG, Friends of FMG (FFMG) and Punta del Este Group (PEG), and Ambassadors of WTO members.
