On 4th March 2021, the Friends of Multilateralism Group (FMG) has organized a virtual brainstorming on EU new thoughts about WTO reform, based on the recent EU Trade Policy Review (https://trade.ec.europa.eu/doclib/docs/2021/february/tradoc_159438.pdf) and its Annex on WTO reform (https://trade.ec.europa.eu/doclib/docs/2021/february/tradoc_159439.pdf).
H.E. João Aguiar Machado, Ambassador of the EU to the WTO, addressed the audience and shared the EU new thoughts on the WTO reform. Hector Torres, FMG member, and Hosuk Lee-Makiyama, Director of European Centre for International Political Economy (ECIPE), also spoke as discussants.
More than 20 participants participated in the brainstorming, including members of FMG, Friends of FMG and Punta del Este Group (PEG), ambassadors of WTO members, and representatives from related international organizations and institutions.
