On March 28th, 2022, the Friends of Multilateralism Group (FMG) organized an online brainstorming session titled “Rethinking S&D in the WTO” based on FMG member Peter Draper’s report “Rethinking special and differential treatment in the World Trade Organization”. Deborah Elms, FMG member and the Founder and Executive Director of the Asian Trade Centre (ATC) moderated this session.
Peter Draper, FMG member and Executive Director of the Institute for International Trade in the Faculty of the Professions, University of Adelaide, Pradeep S Mehta, FMG member and the founder Secretary General of the Jaipur-based Consumer Unity & Trust Society (CUTS International); and Axel ADDY, FMG member and the CEO of Ecocap Investment Group (EIG) shared their views on S&D and WTO reform and answered questions from the participants.
Over 60 participants including members of FMG, Friends of FMG, Ambassadors/DPRs of WTO members, and representatives from related international organizations attended this session.
