On 9 September 2026, FMG organized the 4th session of its “WTO Disputes Decoding Series” to discuss the recent WTO DS 629 panel report on the dispute between China and Türkiye on electric vehicles. This session was moderated by Gabrielle Marceau, FMG member and former legal adviser at the WTO.
At this session, Weihuan Zhou, FMG member and Director of the China International Business and Economic Law (CIBEL) Centre at the Faculty of Law and Justice, UNSW Sydney; Simon Lester, FMG member and former Legal Affairs Officer at the Appellate Body Secretariat of the WTO; Dominic Coppens, Professor of International Economic Law at Maastricht University’s Faculty of Law; Anuradha RV, Partner at Clarus Law Associates hared their insights on the panel report and answered questions from the participants.
Around 120 participants including members of FMG, Ambassadors/DPRs of WTO members, representatives from related international organizations, and experts from renowned think tanks and universities etc. attended this session.
