FMG Webinar on “Working Together for Better Climate Action”

On December 4, 2024, the Friends of Multilateralism Group (FMG) organized a webinar on “Working Together for Better Climate Action”. Bernard Hoekman, FMG Member and Professor and Director, Global Economics at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, European University Institute moderated this session.    

 

At the meeting, Carolyn Fischer, Research Manager of the Sustainability and Infrastructure Team in the Development Research Group of the World Bank shared her opinions based on the report titled “Working Together for Better Climate Action” (https://www.wto.org/english/res_e/booksp_e/climate_action_e.pdf). Bruno Capuzzi, Fellow at the Florence School of Transnational Governance, EUI; Emily Lydgate, Professor of Environmental Law at University of Sussex, Co-Director of the UK Trade Policy Observatory and Deputy Director of the Centre for Inclusive Trade Policy; and Charles Sabel, Professor of Law and Social Science at Columbia Law School shared their comments as discussants. Then, the panelists answered questions from participants.

 

Over 30 participants joined the session, including members of FMG, Ambassadors/DPRs of WTO members, representatives from related international organizations, and experts from renowned think tanks and universities etc.
